A heavy-duty door for commercial boats

The DNV boat doors are robust, yet lightweight and practical; all fittings and fixtures have been carefully selected to ensure long-term trouble free operation. Houdini’s heavy duty doors were granted type approval from Det Norske Veritas Germanischer Lloyd (DNV-GL), following extensive testing.
Features:

 

  • The heavy-duty door for commercial boats comes with hinges and locks and employs clamp frame technology which requires no drilling of the vessels’ structure. This ensures very quick and easy installation on structures ranging from 3 to 60 millimetres.

  • The frames are made from marine grade aluminium alloy with the joints in the bulkhead frame welded for extra strength.

  • The door panels are made from a GRP/foam composite with aluminium frame for stiffness, durability and excellent strength to weight ratio.

  • The heavy-duty door for commercial boats, whether marine sliding or companionway doors, come with top quality stainless steel mortice locks and handles.

  • The doors come with cast stainless steel hinge bodies with phosphor bronze hinge pins.

  • The doors come with synthetic rubber seals to ensure security and weathertightness.

  • The doors are suited for outward opening only.

  • As standard, the frames are supplied white powder coated.

Options:

 

  • Fixed or opening framed window.

  • Half-glazed door incorporating a fixed glass panel in the top of the door (it is not possible to fit dogs into a half-glazed door, a separate window must be specified if dogs are required).

  • Corners can be either mitred or radius (with an aperture corner radius of 100 millimetres).

  • Independently operated dog handles.

  • Single lever operated 3 dog handle closing system.

  • The number and positions of hingers, dog handles and locks can be specified according to size and location of the door and degree of weathertightness required.

  • Heavy-duty hold-backs to secure door in the open position.

  • The locks can be keyed alike.

  • Frames can be supplied in a wide range of powder coated colours.

  • Wheelchair friendly thresholds available on request.

Single operation multi-point locking dogs

A new development of our company for our successful heavy-duty door for commercial boats is a single operation multipoint locking system. The door can be provided with a 3-point full stainless steel lock, operated by a single handle. This allows easy and quick operation of the door whilst achieving maximum watertightness.

LIGHT DUTY DOORS

 

The light-duty boat door provides an economical option for a lightweight internal door or a sheltered external door.

Features:

 

  • The doors can quickly and easily be installed using the clamp frame system, avoiding the need to drill the vessels’ structure.

  • The frames are made from marine grade aluminium alloy and all joints are fishplated and screwed together.

  • The hinges are made from moulded nylon with a stainless steel pin.

  • Handles without locks are fitted as standard.

  • The door panels are made from a GRP/foam composite panel with aluminium frame for stiffness, durability and excellent strength to weight ratio.

  • A synthetic rubber seal is fitted to the door to provide a good degree of watertightness.

  • The standard fixing frame will fit structures from 3 to 25 millimetres thick.

  • The doors are suited for outward opening only.

  • As standard, the frames are supplied white powder coated.

 

Options:

 

  • The doors can be provided with a glazed top panel in the door or a separate framed window.

  • Corners can be either mitred or radius (with an aperture corner radius of 100 millimetres).

  • All high-quality stainless steel mortice locks can be supplied with key locks or toilet privacy locks.

  • Stainless steel louvre vents can be fitted to a toiler door.

  • Frames can be supplied in a wide range of powder coated colours.

  • These doors cannot be provided with dog handle.

BULKHEAD MARINE SLIDING DOORS

 

The weathertight bulkhead marine sliding doors are for fitting to the side or aft of a vessels’ structure and mounted on the external surfaces.

Features:

 

  • A high-quality stainless steel marine sliding door lock with key operation and thumb turn internal operation.

  • The door panels are made from a GRP/foam composite panel with aluminium frame for stiffness, durability and excellent strength to weight ratio.

  • A stylish aluminium garage with face fixing flange.

  • Brush seals fitted to garage and back of the door to provide weathertightness to the door.

  • 4-wheel roller hangers made from high-performance moulded nylon and stainless steel.

  • A stainless steel hanger track and bottom guide rail.

  • Moulded nylon torpedo bottom guides.

  • The marine sliding doors are only available with mitred corners.

  • As standard, the frames are supplied white powder coated.

Options:

 

  • The doors can be provided with a fixed boat window or glass panel (single or double-glazed) in top of the door.

  • The locks can be keyed alike.

  • The frames can be supplied in a wide range of powder coated colours.
